Listen "72. Joseph reveals himself to his brothers. - July 11, 2022"
Episode Synopsis
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 11. I will then key in on verse 25. I will remind the audience that you will reap what you sow. If you sow kindness, generosity, etc. it will come back to you. I also bring up Acts 20:35 which states that "It is more blessed to give than to receive." We will then continue our study of the character of Joseph found in Genesis. I will catch the audience up on the two dreams that Pharaoh had and that Joseph had been able to interpret the dreams for him (although he gave God all the credit for his ability to do that!). I will share Chapter 45: verses 1-15 and bring out three points which we can glean from this story. First of all: 1. Joseph is very emotional - it has been at least 13 years since his older brothers have sold him into slavery and all of the emotions that he has had to keep inside have all come out (enough that the entire palace hears Joseph when he reveals himself to his brothers.) 2. He calms his brothers down when he reveals himself - he knows that his brothers will have a hard time believing that he is truly Joseph (since it has been so long since they had sold him to Ishmaelite traders and that they had never expected to see him again." 3. God will provide for them - since there will still be five years of famine Pharaoh will provide the assistance needed for all of the brothers' children, wives, flocks, and herds to be brought into the land of Egypt where they will live in the best part of the land of Egypt.
