Jesus said if we bare fruit then we will be pruned so we can bare more fruit. Pruning is not gentle. It is not mild or passive. It is very direct and abrupt. Things get cut off that we are currently valuing. We view them as the healthiest part of who we are because they are bearing fruit. Yet to bear more we must be pruned.
