Listen "Three Big Things - 11/3"
Episode Synopsis
1. The government shutdown is on track to be the longest in history. Republicans and Democrats remain at odds over re-opening the government. Meanwhile, Americans disapprove of how President Trump, as well as Democrats and Republicans, are handling the shutdown. We're now on Day 34 of the government shutdown. That's just one day short of the record-setting government closure during President Trump's first term.
2. OpenAI is tapping Amazon's massive cloud operations to handle the ChatGPT's creators' increasing workloads. Amazon's stock continued to rally higher on news of the OpenAI deal, and following a nearly ten percent gain for Amazon shares on Friday thanks to a strong earnings report.
3. Sesame Street has another new home! The popular kids show is being re-located to Netflix, and while the theme song will be the same, the format might be a little different. The main story at the top will be 11 minutes long instead of 9, better to connect with kids, the creators say. The show could also break the fourth wall and "talk" straight to kids, with characters telling their feelings or asking for advice. Because Netflix has such a global audience, the new season will be streamed in 30 different languages.
