Joined by Omaha Westside High School Head Softball Coach Mike Leapley Jr., whose journey to becoming a coach was different than the typical route. Despite not seeking head coaching experience, Coach Leapley has become an ideal coach for his team and took the Interim title and ran with it. As someone who has always loved playing the game, he has found himself in a surprising and fulfilling role as the Head Coach of a State Softball Contender. During our conversation, we will explore the unique path that led him to this position and the lessons he has learned. We will delve into his coaching philosophy and how he has instilled a sense of teamwork, perseverance, and commitment to excellence in his players. We will also touch on the challenges he has faced, his successes, and the importance of maintaining a tradition of excellence in his program.
