Excellent, kind assassin Joe Flood follows a code of conduct; he only takes out enemies that his handler, best friend, and only companion Zvi designates for him. He meets ballerina Maize while working, and their meet-cute follows his meet-kill. He stays dedicated to his work despite falling in love until he decides one day that he wants to retire and spend his golden years with Maize. Sadly, he receives some unfavorable news: a terminal illness that would severely limit his quality of life is confirmed. He takes a hit on himself since he is determined to go on his own terms and to protect Maize's future.
