In today’s episode we bring awareness to the not often talked about issue of the omitting black history from the education of children. Our guest today is Yven Destin, PhD, an educator and writer living in Charlotte, North Carolina. He teaches history at a private school and is a student of American writer James Baldwin. Currently, he is working on a book devoted to the philosophy of the famed author. He is a published researcher and serves on the editorial board of the Family Integrity & Justice Quarterly and is Guest Editor to the Journal of Family Strengths. He also serves on the board of A Second Chance, Inc, a kinship care organization. Dr. Destin is a graduate of Morehouse College, a historically black college in Atlanta, Georgia.
