Episode Synopsis

Burping is normal after meals but when it becomes persistent or excessive there's a problem.➡️ Click HERE to Book a Consultation: https://rootcausemedicalclinics.com/hiatal-hernia-natural-treatment/Call us directly: 727-335-0400Common causes include: "bad bugs" in your gut (dysbiosis), diaphragm imbalance, slowed digestion, certain dietary habits and postural issues.Let's delve into each one and what you can do about it.1. Gastric (stomach) distention from slow stomach emptying, which allows hostile organisms to reproduce both in the stomach itself plus further down in the intestines. The result is dysbiosis and/or SIBO. These organisms produce gas and results in burping.2. Supragastric belching where air is sucked into and expelled from your esophagus. This is more common in those suffering with acid reflux and hiatal hernia. A test called manometry shows that hiatal hernia disrupts the barrier at the junction of the stomach and esophagus and that disruption correlates with reflux and supragastric belching. 3. Hiatal hernia mechanically predisposes to burping because when the stomach pushes up above your diaphragm is wekanes the function of the anti-reflux barrier (composed of the esophagus lower sphincter, diaphragm (crura), plus the esophagus/stomach junction. Breaching of this diaphragm allows for air to escape more easily. Gas reflux and acid reflux both are more likely, along with regurgitation with a hiatal hernia. The increased intra-abdominal pressure known as a causative factor in hital hernia and acid reflux, which also causes gas (air) reflux (burping) is causes by bloating, constipation and obesity, to name a few conditions.Fortunately there are several natural solutions to hand depending on what the root cause(s) are for you. I list some here:1. Address dsbiosis and/or SIBO. I mention in the video that lab testing provides an exact profile, allowing treatment to be more efficacious.2. Diaphragm normalization and breathing therapy. I describe breathing techniques such as box breathing and physiological sign in the video.3. Posure and mechanical correction. I demonstrate the postural abnormalities that can not only increase intra-abdominal pressure, but restrict diaphragm motion and irritate the nerves traveling to the diaphragm and stomach in the video.4. Diet - decreasing if not eliminating carbonated beverages, gum chewing, rapid eating and determining any food sensitivities (perhaps a low FODMAP diet if SIBO is present) are some common dietary habits that should be tackled. As frustrating and annoying as persistent burping is, the good news is there's a root cause that can be identified and treated. If you'd like help we're here for you.
