Rachel is the founder and Executive Director of Emberly's Smiles, a non-profit, working to help make communication accessible in local playgrounds. Rachel's daughter Emberly, forever 7, passed away in 2020 after her battle with a rare condition called Rett Syndrome. Emberly's Smiles is providing a service to communities where there are nonverbal children and adults who want to play! In addition to running Emberly's Smiles, Rachel is a 2nd grade teacher, mom to Adelyn, 13, and wife to Michael, a Crown Point Police Officer. Finding joy in the every day has been a tough journey as Rachel struggled through a breast cancer battle right as her daughter passed away. The drive to make a difference and continue her own life's journey has gotten her on a path to help others.
