When you hear the word “security” what do you think of? Personal bodyguards? Mall cops? In reality all types of businesses need security and joining us to share all about the profession is Kelly Michel. Listen as he shares what kinds of security exist and what you should know if you are looking to become a security officer. He never really intended to go into security. His first thought was going into law, but he was unwilling to put that much time into school. He found security in a roundabout way and realized that he really enjoyed it. After a quick jaunt into construction, he has since stayed in the security realm.There are two different types of security but both are equally important. The first is unarmed security and the second is armed security. Believe it or not, having access to a firearm doesn’t necessarily mean a safer time on the job. Also, just because you have a personal concealed carry license does not mean that you’re qualified for armed security and vice versa. Now he’s building his own business and taking on his very own security jobs which is a whole other beast. He’s extremely knowledgeable about the field and gives amazing advice for those looking to try their hand at security.
