Listen "Day in the Life of the Founders - Part I"
Episode Synopsis
After interviewing several amazing professionals and entrepreneurs who’ve shared their path to where they are today, we realized we haven’t shared our own stories. Listen in to part I as Rachael shares more about what she does and how she got there. Then tune in next week as Eunice shares her journey. Rachael left high school not really thinking about what was next. She got an amazing scholarship through track and field and decided that she’d major in something sport related. She didn’t necessarily have a passion for it, but sport was a huge part of her life so she figured it was the right direction. Fast-forward to now and what she went to school for has nothing to do with her current job. She graduated with a degree in sport management and entered the post-graduate workforce as a manager in a physical therapy clinic. That same clinic was transitioning from paper to paperless and in the process had to incorporate new software. Rachael was chosen as one of the managers to implement the new system and train others on how to use it and realized that she had an aptitude in analysis. Listen in to hear her whole story and learn how her technical skills have lent themselves to her work as a senior business analyst in the construction industry. In this episode:[00:28] A quick bit of inspiration from the movie Man of Steel.[03:05] Somewhere along the line we lose the feeling that we can do anything. [04:18] Our inspiration for this season is to hear from people paving their own way. [05:26] While interviewing for this season, we realized that we’ve never shared what we do. [06:50] Learn more about Rachael’s day job, a senior business analyst for construction companies. [08:30] What her role entails as an analyst in the construction field. [11:36] How did she end up in this role? [15:17] Relationship building is very important to professional and business success. [17:37] Now she’s certified in project management and other skills. [18:28] While in high school she wasn’t even thinking about college. [20:03] Rachael shares several of the jobs that she’s had over the years. [22:49] Being an analyst opens up doors in various areas of the same field. [23:55] What kinds of skills lend themselves to being in the tech industry? [26:27] Eunice’s path was completely different than Rachael’s.
