Before there was social media, the most influential piece of technology was television. Since the 1950’s tv’s have sucked our attention, created idols, told us what we “really need”, and who we “need” to be. There are 2 sides of that coin: it can be really inspiring to see what you “could be” but without enough representation, it can be discouraging to see one dimensional sides of the media.
