Listen "Ep#23 Looking ahead vs looking behind"
Episode Synopsis
When I was growing up from an early age of 8 yrs old all the way until I was 42, I dreaded exercising and specifically running.I avoided participating in gym class and used every excuse possible to get out of it because my brain was so focused on what other people would think about how I looked, and I had convinced myself I couldn't do it. So fast forward to the age of 42 when I decided to give running a try. My brain was focused on what had happened in the past. Looking back to how I had never been able to do it. How hard it was and how it was better to quit. But because I decided to focus on looking ahead by committing to following a plan, I ran my first 10K race. What you need to know is that our brains do not like uncertainty, and looking ahead brings up uncertainty, so in today's episode, I will show you how to stop your brain from pulling you back to what didn't work for you so that you can move forward to where you want to go.I'll show you the steps you can take to shift out of looking behind so that you can commit to doing what you say you will do and then follow through on doing that. When you do that, you will have the trust and confidence to challenge yourself to make more changes in what you are doing and eating that will get you to your weight goal. Listen in on how you can let go of looking behind so you can truly focus on looking ahead because that is where all the results come from!
