The flight of the Falcon, so graceful and true,
great billowing clouds in deep, burning blue;
the boundless space of sky far above,
this is my freedom, my laughter, my love!
The serenity of flight, to me, is supreme,
the flow and the beauty of fulfilled dream;
the call and the challenge, my answer I’ll give,
the sky is my fortress, within it I live!
My portals are clouds, which thunder and roll,
my windows are sunbeams, the warmth of my soul;
my stairways are rainbows, with color and light,
my home is my castle, my kingdom of flight.
Let the Earth give me up, from its bondage within,
and clothe me with freedom, to ride on the wind;
the eagle’s domain, I shall boldly possess,
with meekness and awe, the sky to caress.
Forever and ever my soul will delight,
in the joys and the splendor of heavenly flight;
for such is my prose and ever shall be,
for the song of the wind is my poetry.
