My role as Ngamaka (mum) has been a part of my Dreaming since as long as I can remember. And all I ever wanted to be was Ngamaka, and one of my promises I made to myself and my future children. Was that I would do my best to heal myself and show up. So my children didn't become victims to my dysfunction or trauma. It doesn't always play out the way we intend. Yarning a little about journey in this time and place.
