Episode Synopsis

Introducing: The Voices of Recovery PodcastDaily readings of the “Just for Today” meditation and the “Spiritual Principle a Day“ passage read by recovering addicts.Transcript:Welcome to Voices of Recovery, a podcast produced by The Works of Wisdom. I’m your host, Dr. X, and I invite you to journey with us into the heart of recovery—one voice, one day, and one principle at a time. This podcast is born from a simple but powerful idea: that healing happens when we speak our truth, and when we listen with open hearts. Starting June 1, Voices of Recovery will bring you real voices of addicts in recovery—people just like you and me—reading from two beloved pieces of Narcotics Anonymous literature: the Just for Today meditation, and the Spiritual Principle a Day reading. But this isn’t just about reading words—it’s about sharing spirit. Every ten days, a new voice will rise from the silence and share these daily reflections. These are voices of struggle and grace, of experience and transformation. You’ll hear from people who have fallen, risen, wandered, returned—and are walking the path of recovery with honesty and hope. Our first series of episodes will focus on a theme close to many of our hearts: “Recovery After Relapse.”Relapse does not mean failure. It is part of many of our journeys—a place of brokenness that can become fertile ground for spiritual renewal. In these first voices, you’ll hear the pain of returning, yes—but also the strength, the humility, and the deep wisdom that often follows a fall.In the months ahead, we’ll explore other sacred themes like “Incarceration and Recovery”—how recovery can begin behind walls, and grow in the freedom of the spirit—and “Our Predecessors”, honoring those who came before us and carried the message when we were still lost.Although this podcast features NA literature, it is not produced, approved, or affiliated with Narcotics Anonymous. We stand firmly in respect of the Traditions of NA, especially the principle that the name of the fellowship not be used for outside enterprises. Voices of Recovery is an independent offering—created in the spirit of service, by members who believe in the healing power of shared stories, shared readings, and spiritual connection. This podcast is not about promoting personalities. It is about presence. It is about the still, quiet voice within each of us that says: You are not alone. That says: Just for today, you can recover. And that reminds us, again and again, that the miracle of recovery is not in perfection, but in willingness—in spiritual awakening, one moment at a time.So mark your calendar for June 1, and subscribe now to Voices of Recovery.Let this be a place where we gather, where we listen, and where we grow—together.Just for today, may you find peace.Just for today, stay
