Listen "S3, E6: King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table - Equality"
Episode Synopsis
Over the years, Equality has come to be defined and redefined to fit the current age. To many, it is defined by financial, social and political opportunity. But the true greatness of this virtue is that it is not concerned with the quality of a man’s abilities, social standing, race, wealth or appearance. Rather, it looks at the quality of his character to see if he is worthy of responsibility, power and influence. In the eyes of equality, nothing matters more than a man’s character and his willingness to protect it from compromise. Perhaps the most famous example of equality is found in the legendary tales of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. In this episode we will explore the history behind these myths, how this group of men came to reach true equality, and how that equality was tragically lost.
Hosted by Scott Einig and featuring special guest Stephanie Bar-shev-ski, author and Professor of History at Clemson University.
