Ifi Amadiume is a Nigerian born poet, academic and political activist, born 1947. Some of her other books include Male Daughters, Female Husbands. In both books, Amadiume seeks to reflect on and challenge the manner in which European scholars have reproduced/ invented Africa. This book ultimately reflects on the invention of patriarchy in Africa.
