Listen "Building a bridge between Ohio farmland owners, seekers"

Episode Synopsis

A bill (HB 95) recently signed into law in Ohio is expected to ease some challenges faced by beginning farmers. The Family Farm ReGeneration Act will offer incentives to retiring famers to sell their agricultural assets to beginning farmers by decreasing their tax burden. This in turn should help young farmers get land and establish their operations. Comments from Amalie Lipstreu (AMM-a-lee LIP-stew), policy director, Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association.
