The arrival of Jesus into the city of Jerusalem ushers Him into a space where the cross is looming.  That cross was an obstacle that needed to be conquered so that Jesus could be enthroned FAR beyond what everyone thought when He arrived in Jerusalem as well as what we could have ever imagined all these years later.
