Episode Synopsis
There are many people in and across the University who are driving change. In this special changemaker podcast series we shine a light on some of our Black academics and the excellent work they are doing in the university and outside to help drive change.
In this episode, Xavier speaks to Amy Saleh about the work she is doing to bring Black literature into schools, focusing on the Princess & The Hustler’ by Chinonyerem Odimba.
The play is a celebration of Black British-Caribbean girlhood, family, and culture, and is set in St Pauls amidst The Bristol Bus Boycott, a defining moment in Bristol’s history.
Xavier talks to Amy about her career so far and how she found the transition from teaching in schools to working in Higher Education.
