Episode Synopsis

Hi everyone, last week I had a conversation with my former boss, Sabrina Teichman, Managing Director and Senior Advisor to the CEO for the Western Hemisphere in the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation. During our conversation, she explores her motivations for pursuing a career in the U.S. government as well as the added responsibilities and power of being a first generation American woman working in predominantly white male dominated institutions. She offers great advice for 20-somethings looking to enter the field in international relations through sharing her own experiences graduating undergrad during the 2008 Financial Crisis. We also discuss her transition from working at the Department of Homeland Security to the U.S. International Development Finance in her goal to make a more sustainable impact on global development through investment.
