Listen "iTalk #28 : Do you compete with Others, STOP !"
Episode Synopsis
The Power of #Selfmprovement !
Hi, Saturday is to Self-Compete!
Do you compete with others or yourself?
I know, from childhood, we're conditioned to believe that we need to be better than others.
But the fact is, those who are committed to their goals compete to improve, not just to win.
Think about it: when you focus on beating others, you're constantly comparing and stressing. But when you focus on improving yourself, you're in control and empowered.
Take Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all time. He said, "I want to be the best version of myself, and if that means winning gold, then that's what I'll do." His hard work paid off in 2008 when he won an unprecedented 8 gold medals in a single Olympics.
As James Clear says in his book Atomic Habits, "If you get 1% better each day for one year, you'll end up being 37 times better by the time you're done."
So, ditch the comparison game and focus on your own progress.
Celebrate your small wins, and don't be too hard on yourself when you slip up.
Remember, self-competition is a journey, not a destination.
Keep Going, All the Best !
