Toxic masculinity refers to a set of attitudes and behaviours, typically conforming to the binary gender norms, that are expected of men and are perceived to have a negative effect on them and the society as a whole.
Toxic masculinity often has undertones of the idea that there exists a gender binary, homophobia, objectification of women and the idea that men stand at a pedestal when compared to other genders.
