Listen "Liberal Budget 2022"
Episode Synopsis
Affordability. It is the number one concern of Canadians. Inflation is running at 5.7 percent this month following a five percent jump in March. Gas prices have never been this high, fuelled in part by the war in Ukraine. Supply chain disruptions are also having an impact on the cost of everything. The 2022 Federal budget was expected to give us a path out of the pandemic and on to the road to recovery. Does this budget tackle the costs? When we talk about about affordability, by far the biggest concern is the cost of buying a home. Prices were high before the pandemic, but they rose 20 percent last year, putting the average home at $816 thousand. Hardly chump change.
