When Chelsea Vaughn, Assistant Director of Player Development for Ole Miss football was young,  she began to have a vision for a nonprofit that she believed would help athletes develop as people and leaders.  She began Humble Over Hype as a message to athletes to embrace development, growing, around the gifts they have been given over the “hype” that comes with being an athlete.  Humble Over Hype encourages athletes to embrace who they are and what they have to offer the world beyond their sport.  Through mental health awareness, mentor programs, character development workshops and events, Chelsea is working to connect athletes with each other and their true selves.
