Will God only love us if we are good all the time? Do I have to do ALL the things, ALL the time in order to be blessed? We will discuss how people tend to think there’s a gospel checklist to get into heaven, and the problems that this mentality can produce. What’s the answer when many stress themselves right out of the church and vow to throw away the checklist all together. Is there a solution? Does a “checklist mentality” help or hinder our connection to God? We hope to help clarify our understandings in this discussion today and help others to see that checklists in and of themselves are not bad. They can bring us closer to Christ; and as we come closer we feel His love greater and can begin to live a higher and holier way. The checklists can become holy habits that keep us close to Christ.
