Listen "26: This Is Me with Lis Cashin"
Episode Synopsis
Loved my conversation with Lis who is not only an inspirational woman, shining her light for others, but a dear friendShe has been on an incredible journey since her life was devastated when at just 13 years old, she accidentally killed a friend in a school sports day event. She then lived with undiagnosed PTSD and punished herself for many years. Age 30 she was in a physically and emotionally abusive relationship, taking drugs and partying every weekend and her life was spiralling out of control.Until a breakthrough moment which changed the course of her life forever. Lis is now passionate about sharing her journey to mental wellbeing, including insights she has gained and practices she has learned that can give support and a roadmap to others who want to transform their own mental wellbeing and live happier and more fulfilled livesSome key points from our interview you won’t want to miss How she learnt to have compassion for her younger self How a car crash woke her up to how she was living and left living in London and gave her time to reflect on her misery and ask big questions How she heard a quote at a sales conference which stopped her in her tracks How she learnt to see that she had a choice in her response and could find meaning in what had happened How learning mindfulness allowed her to expand her self awareness How a Reiki session whilst travelling in India opened her up to a connection of something greater How she learnt to embrace all the rejected parts of her life with love and compassion in order to accept herself fully How her mantra of “This Too Will Pass” helps when she’s feeling overwhelmed "Whatever life throws at me I can remain unbroken" - Lis Cashin https://www.liscashin.comhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/This-Me-Hell-Path-Happiness-ebook/dp/B07RS4ZDRR* * * *"Unbroken: Healing Through Storytelling" features individuals who have all triumphed after adversity and have not just bounced back in life, but forward and are now making a difference for others.Hosted by Madeleine Black, the show will share stories of all the amazing people Madeleine has met on her own journey as an author/speaker and these stories will heal, motivate, inspire and bring hope when they share their wisdom and knowledge with her.She really believes in the power that comes when we share our stories, that in fact we are not story tellers but story healers.
