Listen "Being a woman in sport "
Episode Synopsis
TW mention of body image. Have you ever been called a pick me for liking a certain sport? On todays episode I discuss the damage competitive sports can have on young girls in regard to body image, toxic friendships, losing the love for your sport and the feminist take on the advantages men can have over women in certain sports. I discuss the patronising response from people when you openly admit to liking a sport considered ‘masculine’ - you do NOT have to prove yourself to anyone. AND a snippet of my episode surrounding the phrase ‘pick me’ where we as a society are perpetrating stereotypes of certain sports beloning to men when we call girls ‘pick me’ if they like a certain sport. I also speak about finding your idols and inspirations such as Lissie Mackintosh! ILYSM
