Listen "97: Hard Boiled (辣手神探) (1992) and New World (신세계) (2013)"
Episode Synopsis
Text Matt & Adam!Noir-vember goes international this week. John Woo's "Hard Boiled" (1992) is neo-noir at it's most violent with a couple stylized shoot outs that are second to none. M&A both agree, if you can get through the opening scene sequence, it's your kind of movie. South Korea's "New World" (2013) has more storyline and less violence, but just as good. Though, the boys did think the lead actor was miscast and dragged the finished film down a bit. One final Noir-vember with Sam Fuller's "Pick up on South Street" (1953) and "Prisoners" (2013) with Jake Gyllenhaal and Hugh Jackman. Thanks for listening!Did we get something wrong?
