Episode Synopsis "Episode 3 - Music as a Tool in the Classroom Part 3"
"Learning happens in the space of the unexpected." Professor Mario Obando explains to Manuel Bermudez and Professor Daniel Topete why it is important for teachers to be themselves in the classroom. He tells the story of how his students listened to "Strawberry Swing" by Frank Ocean, a song about mortality, and how they were able to relate to it during the COVID-19 pandemic. Manuel Bermudez, Professor Obando, and Professor Topete encourage educators to be vulnerable in the classroom by sharing music to spark meaningful conversations.
