Where can we go when we’re desperate and afraid? We can turn to the Lord! He is our refuge, a very present help in times of trouble.There are many people in need of the Lord’s sheltering wings today, in need of refuge. What about women and their children who are in need of a safe haven? Should we have a concern even when it doesn’t involve those we know and love? Consider the greatest commandment, to love our neighbor as ourselves! The reality is that domestic violence can happen to anyone: you, your sister, your friend… maybe it is happening now to someone you care about! This is a pervasive problem to concern us all. Many organizations offer support; I mention one: Yeshua’s House is a faith-based ‘safe haven’ for women and their children coming from domestic violence and financial hardship.
