Listen "Cremant d’ Alsace from Domaine Freud"
Episode Synopsis
David Kohl had the pleasure of meeting the Alsace vignerons of Domaine Freud during a recent trip to France. With a wine-growing heritage dating back to The 17th Century, Domaine Freud based in eastern France’s Pfaffenheim region produces a dry style Cremant d’Alsace with nuances of orchard fruits, from a blend of white wine grapes : Pinot Blanc & Pinot Auxerrois. Considered a “cousin” to Champagne due to method of fermentation, Cremant d’Alsace has experienced a recent surge in popularity due to its value based pricing in the $25 range. #wine #winepodcast #cremant #cremantdalsace #alsace #pfaffenheim #alsatian
