Episode Synopsis
Send us a textLooking back, the highlights of week one were its dramatic and controversial opening ceremony. Then there was the emergence of the superstar of the games for the home crowds, swimming superstar 22 year old Léon Marchand who won four gold medals. The other highlights for me were the sensational 100 metres final, in which US the American Noah Lyles won the event by five-thousandths of a second in 9.69', from Jamaica's Kishane Thompson, in a dramatic photo finish. For the first time, the eight finalists all had run under 10 seconds in a wind-legal race, making it the fastest race in history.
