Listen "Prodigal Son "
Episode Synopsis
This was the first appearance in a new congregation for a long time. The trip was made alongside a delivery of cakes. Those who are not aware may not know that we have a business that we run supplying cakes to a few clients. While things have been tough, it was refreshing to find some new opportunities as well as attend a service. There was so much to some of which we have prepared in this podcast. The sermon was about serving God's people, and we spent the morning honoring and rewarding those who have worked in various voluntary capacities at the Church. They for those who may be curious are referred to as wardens. They come dressed in sashes that make it easier for us to identify them. In terms of Scripture the message zeroed in on the Apostle Paul and his final word where he says, "I have fought the good fight, i have finished the race. There is laid before me a crown of righteousness..."(My Memory of His Words). The preacher also spoke of the book of Nehemiah where there was reconstruction work going on amidst the criticism, of all sorts of adversaries. How do you serve in rough circumstances? What are the benefits of serving God and his people? What are you protecting and what is defined as sacred?
