Listen "T2P Episode 20: Let’s Ask the Listeners"
Episode Synopsis
Hey y’all, it's Shawn King, and welcome back to the Trying 2 Parent podcast. Today, we're discussing a range of updates, starting with finally rebooking our appointment with the internet people and setting up our Mexican bank account - phew, it's been a long time coming.
But, let's talk about the elephant in the room - we're still not pregnant. It's frustrating, and we know many of you can relate. People often say don't think about it, don't worry about it, but it's not that easy, is it?
On a high note, we're pretty sure we've locked in our next promotion at work, which is super exciting, and our friend Rae just qualified for her first promotion too - congratulations, Rae!
Unfortunately, we've also had a low point this week. One of our good friends lost one of his best friends, and it's been tough.
Moving on to our news topic for the week - we came across an article that emphasizes the importance of teaching children a life skill that can lead to success. It's fascinating, and we wanted to share it with all of you.
Now, we want to hear from you - is it okay for men to wear spandex to hide their tummy if women are doing it too? We'd love to know your thoughts on this.
And finally, let's talk about an overseas parenting ritual that we found interesting. The Wolof people of Mauritania believe that human saliva can retain words and affect the development of children. So when a baby is born, women spit on the baby's face, and men spit in the baby's ear for good luck. It's certainly not something we've come across before, but we'd love to know your thoughts on this too.
Of course we touch on this weeks episode of The Parent Test which always sparks some good conversation.
As always be sure to call in & leave us a voicemail or a sweet text with some advice or responses to the questions we ask and we'll be sure to play it on the podcast.
