Listen " 1 Corinthians 15:3–7: Is It a Creed? (10/11)"
Episode Synopsis
Many evangelicals think that Paul's words in 1 Corinthians 15:3–7 are actually a creed—a statement of faith in the resurrection of Jesus that the early Church created soon after His death and resurrection. Quick searches on various apologetic websites also tell you that the Apostles taught this creed to Paul after his conversion. Taken together, it would mean that we have solid evidence of the resurrection only 3–5 years after the fact, which is earlier than the Gospel books. While this sounds great, we ought to not take things for granted; after all, we are to be prepared to give a defence for our beliefs. This time round, we take a more careful look at this common claim to see if indeed something useful for us and others!
