Listen "Reasons To Be Thankful"
Episode Synopsis
Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays. There is shopping, football, family and great food. All of those things make my Thanksgiving weekend really good, but none of them make it wonderful. Listen to the words of Psalm 139:14, “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my should knows it very well. The Lord Jesus Christ has intentionally made me and has given me a purpose in life. Pausing during Thanksgiving week reminds me of this truth and that is the highest reason Thanksgiving is wonderful. Here are four reasons to be thankful this week.As a believer, you have a hope in Jesus Christ that is deeper and stronger than any situation you face in life.If you not a believer, if you have never placed your faith and trust in Jesus Christ - send us a message. We would love to talk with you.As an American, you have advantages that other people in our world do not have. There are wars throughout our world. There are dictatorship that have a tight grip on their citizens. There is poverty. There are parents looking at their children, wondering when they will eat next. You might not agree with everything that happens in our country, but most of us are not worried about the disadvantages the rest of the world accepts as normal. We ought not take our freedoms for granted. As a family member, it is likely you will not spend the entire Thanksgiving weekend alone. The majority of people I know will gather with family and friends at some point this weekend. Cherish those moments because you never know when they might be the last time you are together. Honor the empty seats that were filled last year with dear loved ones.As a friend, you have people in your life that help you become a better person. This is a great weekend to tell people how much influence they have in your life. Even if you have just one close friend, you are not alone. In fact, YOU ARE LOVED dearly. We hope that your Thanksgiving weekend is full of blessing, laughter and worship. If you are looking for a church family, please consider joining us at 10:30 on Sunday morning.
