We need a Master who gives life, who is life—our Father in heaven. As Scripture says in Romans 7:25, “Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.” As followers of Christ, we are called to live as obedient children—not conforming to the evil desires of our past, but pursuing holiness. “Be holy, because I am holy,” for the one who called us is holy.
