Researchers at Children’s Mercy Kansas City are using a multi-pronged research approach to investigate the underlying causes of inherited conditions and possible new treatment options. Dr. Seth Septer and partners are looking into the genotype and phenotype correlations within inherited gastrointestinal syndromes, such as familial adenomatous polyposis, to determine if patients may be at risk for certain type of cancer or a more aggressive form of cancer, depending on their gene mutations.
