Mitsuha is a girl who has dreams of living life as a boy in cosmopolitan Tokyo. Taki is a boy who has dreams of living life as a girl in a tiny rural lake town in the mountains. The two swiftly realise that these are no mere dreams, that several days a week the two teenagers switch bodies and lives, and begin to experience realities far different from their own.
