Traditional Healing Through a Haudenosaunee Lens
Por: Sarah Cook
This podcast takes a look at Indigenous traditional healing practices, specifically those of the Haudenosaunee confederacy and Mohawk cultures. It consists of an interview with traditional healers, Della Adams and Eddie Gray of the Mohawk territory of Akwesasne, who talk about healing and medicinal practices, their experiences as traditional healers, and how they are contributing to cultural revitalization. They are both founders of the Haudenosaunee Everlasting Academy of Learning, which is a traditional healing lodge located in Akwesasne that offers a range of services. Through the creation of this lodge, they are providing traditional healing throughout the community and to those who reside elsewhere, and are keeping healing practices alive through education and passing down of these traditions. This podcast touches on many components of traditional healing and teachings told directly from traditional healers themselves.
