Listen "Ep. 34 - Clay Murfet took on American racing...and thrived!"
Episode Synopsis
Hailing from Tasmania, Australia. Clay made his way to the states in 2006 as a 17yr old to race on the velodrome in Pennsylvania. In 2008 Clay turned professional with Kelly Benefit Strategies cycling and continued to progress through the ranks. Snatching his first big pro win in 2011, Clay signed for Smartstop pro cycling. In 2014, Clay switched his focus to more criterium based races and became team captain of Astellas pro cycling, where he would finish out his pro career. Clay raced all around the world. China, Netherlands, Belgium, England, New Zealand, Australia and of course USA. Recently I spoke with via Zoom about his racing career, retirement and his career as a massage therapist. Enjoy!
