Listen "Goals Can Be Destructive"
Episode Synopsis
"Quit daydreaming, Tarbey. Face forward and focus." Brother Flannery, my economics teacher in High School, said this just before he slapped me over the back of the head. Friends, family, and teachers always called me a daydreamer. Over time, I changed my thoughts and fell into the goal-setting pattern. Goals are not bad; I have had a few, and many of them have worked out. However, daydreaming didn't leave me entirely. I decided to look up what daydreaming meant and was blown away. I read a quote that changed my entire thought process and focus. Each completed short-term objective pushed me closer to the dream. I lost that dream somewhere in my journey, but now, I was back! I started to daydream again and opened my mind to greater possibilities. Many years ago, I was reminded that daydreaming was the best path I had taken. My point is simple: remember your dream and never let it out of your thoughts, no matter what others say. Setting daily, weekly, and monthly objectives will motivate you to transform that dream into reality.
