Listen "Bill Hudgins plus John Joseph Kelso"
Episode Synopsis
This week, Kate talks about Bill Hudgins and his wife Emily - a well matched happy couple who added so much to the fabric of the early small village of Haliburton. Plus Paul talks about John Joseph Kelso, an Irish immigrant to Toronto who rose above early adversity to create charitable organizations protecting poor children and abused animals. His reforms were eventually enshrined in legislation across Canada and internationally. In fact he was invited to the White House by President Theodore Roosevelt to speak to a Child Welfare Conference in 1906.
