Listen "Episode 97 - Temple of the Dog / Metallica"
Episode Synopsis
In this episode Trent talks about his trip to Seattle to see the reunion of Temple of the Dog. The Paramount Theater hosted the highly sought after ticket, and we talk about the vibe, the set list, Chris Cornell's amazing homage to Andrew Wood's Mother Love Bone songs, Mike McCready's greatness, the crowd reaction, meeting people from all over the place, and more. Trent also talks about other points in his trip that included a visit to Easy Street Records in West Seattle to see Jeff Ament's MLB mural, a trip to the grave site memorial of the immortal Jimi Hendrix, and talk about another rousing Steell Panther show at the Showbox. We then get into talk about Metallica's great new album. We gave our first reaction on youtube, but now that we have had some time to let it sink in we give some new thoughts. High praise for Kirk's solo writing, the riffs, the magic of sounding like all eras of Metallica, praise for Rob, and more... we also play a badass song from Screaming Red Mutiny and talk a bit about the great band out of Oklahoma, and talk about Winger coming to Tulsa in 2017. Thank you for listening, and please share!
