Listen "36. Interview With a 9 Year Old: What is Therapy Like For Kids?"
Episode Synopsis
In this episode you will be introduced to Laura, a 9-year-old girl who has recently been to therapy to address her anxiety. Laura was struggling with many of the anxious behaviors we talked about in episode 32 on anxiety in children. She was irritable, negative, emotionally sensitive, and was struggling in her family relationships. Through therapy, Laura was able to learn to understand and express her needs and use calming techniques to handle her emotions. Laura will tell you about those things she did and learned in therapy-from the playroom to sandtray to neurofeedback! Tune in for a child’s perspective on going to therapy. It will be helpful for all you parents who are considering therapy for your children, or for kids who are feeling nervous to start therapy!
