GROVE HILL — The sounds of blacksmith hammers, laughter and the rhythmic churn of homemade butter filled the air last weekend as the Clarke County Museum hosted its annual Pioneer Day. The event on the museum grounds drew crowds from across the county and beyond, including volunteers who traveled from as far away as Florida to help with the festivities. Visitors were invited to step back in time and experience first-hand the traditions and skills that defined life in Clarke County during the 1800s and early 1900s.
