Episode Synopsis
Dr. Randie Schacter works at Silver Psychiatric Services, in Matthews, NC where she is the founder/owner and solo practitioner for the last 11+ years. Treating women and children with a special passion in caring for women physicians.
She received her degree in psychology at UCLA, then attended medical school at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her Osteopathic Internship was at Massapequa General Hospital. Then, her adult psychiatry training occurred at Zucker- Hillside Hospital, and her child and adolescent Training at Levine Children’s Hospital with additional electives in Dialectical behavioral therapy and research. Both programs are now part of the Northwell health system in Long Island NY.
She is the Past President to Charlotte Area Psychiatric Society, the NC Council Child and Adolescent Psychiatry’s current delegate to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Assembly, and editor to their newsletter. She is a Distinguished Fellow of the Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She is also the creator of an interactive CME program for Women Medical Professionals to manage stress and burnout using Mindfulness, CBT, Art, and peer support, (accompanied by Farm-to-Table homemade-gourmet food) in the Charlotte Area.
When not working she is spending time with family, making pottery, or entertaining family and friends with farm-to-table creations and forever learning anywhere and anyway she can.
