Miami Shores was officially established in 1932 and today it is a modern, residential community of 10,000 people with a quaint and thriving downtown. According to the U.S. Census, it's 70% white. Due to redlining practices that prevented people of color from owning homes in the area until well into the 1980s, Miami Shores is only 14% Black, but you wouldn't know that from the changing face of leadership.Thanks for listening!
