Listen "Ep 10 - Do I have ADHD? (ft. Meredith Carder @hummingbird_adhd)"
Episode Synopsis
ADHD, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, is a neurodevelopmental disorder that develops in utero. It means that a person is born with ADHD. Although boys are often diagnosed with ADHD at a younger age, girls also experience the symptoms but may learn to control them in different ways, making it harder to identify in their early years. The average age of diagnosis for women with ADHD, who weren’t diagnosed as children, is thirty six to thirty eight years old. Isn't that wild?!Not identifying ADHD earlier can have a significant impact on an individual's life. It can cause them to develop coping mechanisms, such as being extreme perfectionists, which may hold them back from pursuing their goals. However, with the right diagnosis, individuals with ADHD can learn how to cope with their symptoms and understand themselves better.
